About the herd...

At D&D, we strive to produce moderate framed, efficient cattle.  Besides producing structurally sound and maternal purebred females, we also cross Angus and Red Angus with Tarentaise to produce crossbred females and steers for the commercial producer.

The females at D&D Cattle Company are bred for the cattle producer. Strong emphasis is placed on sound udders, feet, and legs.  They are early maturing, usually reaching a frame size of five or six.   The females are highly fertile and maternal, and can either be bred to produce replacements or be used as a base for a terminal cross. The Tarentaise and Angus or Red Angus crosses will bring heterosis to any program without mongrelizing the herd.

The bulls that are produced at D&D are ‘cow-making’ bulls.  The purebred Tarentaise bulls are aggressive  breeders that increase cutability and yield grades without losing marbling or taste.  The Angus and Red Angus bulls provide calving ease, moderate frame size, and EPDs that will complement any program.
